This Spanish-language publication reflects on the diversity of the Latin American and Caribbean region, pointing out that structural inequalities cannot be understood by leaving out the process of colonization and the dominant hegemonies of patriarchy, legitimation of violence, processes of subordination, underrepresentation, and lack of recognition and access to rights by large groups of the population (e.g. Indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples).

An intersectional analysis allows for an analysis of various systems of oppression in Latin America and the Caribbean — racism, classism, machismo, among others— and thus reflect, in an informed way, on the impact that the development of autonomous weapons would have on communities in our society, particularly among vulnerable populations, whose discrimination has been systematic.
